Gas hot water systems heat water through natural gasses or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Instantaneous or continuous flow is one of the two types of gas hot water systems. Water is instantly heated only when it is about to be used.
And, since this type doesn’t require storage tanks, it uses heat exchangers (or coiled pipes) that warm the water as it flows, fueled by a gas burner. The storage gas hot water system needs a tank to function since it heats water in storage using a continuously burning pilot flame.
The tanks are insulated to maintain the heat for prolonged periods, while the pilot flames ensure the water maintains its set temperature until it’s used.
